London calling

We took a family vacation to London and Paris at the end of August and beginning of September.

The transportation on our trip included: Airplane, Train, Taxi, Subway, Bus, Bicycle, boat, and my favorite: walking

There is a park next to the London Eye, across the Thames from House of Parliament, just a short bus ride from our apartment, that the kids couldn't get enough of. There was a large variety of street performers that were highly entertaining.
A clever man set these up. You donated a pound and your child is amused making bubbles for as long as they like. These moments help off-set heavy site-seeing.

This man had the most funny and disturbing gig going. I hadn't laughed so hard in a long time. In fact, I couldn't stop laughing so the kids almost walked away from me. He wasn't saying ruff ruff, he was singing LaLaLaLa....so bizarre.

Grace got to help this performer out during his show. She got to throw 3 bowling pins up to him on his unicycle, which was about 10 feet up.

I don't know if these even work any more. We never saw anyone use them other than as a prop.

We had a delicious tea. Derik was sceptical about a tea, but it ended up being his favorite meal in London and the food was good in London.

The London Eye

On our way to Paris
We had a great time in London. We had an unfortunate camera situation. We left our SLR camera at LAX (someone found it and turned it in and we got it back) so we used our little Canon Elph. It was very convenient, but not exactly the quality I wanted.

We lost about a third of the London photos due to a technical error so we have no pictures of: Buckingham Palace, The Churhill museum, Harrods' fabulous food hall, Hyde Park, and other shots around the city. But it was all really special and so interesting. I Love London.
